MONTHLY PROGRAMS—Our hybrid monthly programs are popular and well attended. Topics range from ecotourism and wildlife photography to Orcas and live owls. Programs are usually 6:30 p.m. the second Thursday of each month, from September to May, at the North Kitsap High School Library in Poulsbo, WA and via Zoom.

FIELD TRIPS—Experienced guides lead monthly outings to prime birding areas. We also host an annual Christmas Bird Count.

CONSERVATION—We closely monitor environmental issues and legislation and promote timely action and support, consistent with our mission and values. Purple Martin Project—Nesting boxes have been installed and are being monitored at various locations in Kitsap County. Wildlife viewing platforms have been funded by Kitsap Audubon in locations throughout Kitsap County, in collaboration with local Boy Scout Troops and both city and county parks departments.  We donated more than $120,000 and help raise millions more to preserve forests and shoreline in Kitsap County, including the 3,500 acres that now make up the Port Gamble Forest Heritage Park.

EDUCATION—In addition to our popular monthly programs, we provide volunteers and educational displays at numerous related community events. We have awarded $85,500 in scholarships since 2006.

PUBLICATIONS/COMMUNICATIONS Kingfisher newsletter keeps members and friends informed about our monthly programs, field trips, environmental issues and related news and events. Where to Find Birds in Kitsap County provides a detailed guide to the best birdwatching locations in the area.
