Looking to connect with fellow nature lovers and spot some great birds? Join us for our next Let’s Go Birding Together outing! This event is designed to be inclusive, welcoming, and flexible for birders of all experience levels—from curious beginners to seasoned pros.
We’ve designed the morning in flexible "chapters," so you can join us for as much or as little as you’d like!
The Itinerary:
Part 1: The Main Walk (8:00 AM – 9:30 AM)
We’ll kick off with a relaxed, 1.5-hour bird walk starting at the main parking lot of Port Gamble Heritage Park. We’ll cover gentle terrain and keep an eye (and ear) out for local species.
Part 2: Stationary Birding in Town (~9:30 AM – 10:15 AM)
Want to keep going? We’ll drive down into the town of Port Gamble for a stationary birding session near the Historic Museum (about 30 to 45 minutes). This is a great, low-impact way to practice bird ID and chat with other participants.
Part 3: The Bonus Lap (For the Hardcore Birders!)
For anyone who still hasn't had their fill, we may cap off the morning with a final bonus stop at Salsbury Point County Park to check out the waterbirds!
Note: Feel free to drop off after any leg of the trip—no pressure at all!
What to Bring:
Binoculars (if you have them)
Weather-appropriate layers & comfortable walking shoes
Water and snacks
Let’s Go Birding Together events intentionally create a safe, welcoming, and inclusive space for birders of all races, genders, abilities, and backgrounds. Come as you are!
