Kitsap Audubon General Monthly Meeting - December

  • Poulsbo Library 700 Northeast Lincoln Road Poulsbo, WA, 98370 United States (map)

Join us for our next General Meeting on Thursday, December 11th, at 6:30 p.m. for an incredibly informative presentation: Magnificent Molt and MAPS! We are thrilled to host ornithologist Scott Markowitz, Director of Research at the Puget Sound Bird Observatory (PSBO). Scott will delve into the fascinating and often complex process of molt in birds—covering the "why" and "how," its evolutionary foundation, and how understanding molt can significantly improve your birding skills!

Scott's presentation will also share the critical work being done by the PSBO bird banding lab, including their involvement in the nation-wide MAPS (Monitoring Avian Productivity and Survivorship) network. Learn how wildlife tracking and banding research monitors the reproduction and survival of our bird populations. Don't miss this deep dive into avian biology and conservation research! Join us online via Zoom.

Doors open at 6:00 p.m. and the program begins at 6:30 p.m. We are thrilled to offer both in-person and virtual attendance options.
