Celebrating Community & Conservation at Kitsap Pride 2026!

What a fantastic day! This past Saturday, July 18th, the Kitsap Audubon Society team gathered at Gordon Field for the 30th Annual Kitsap Pride Festival, and we could not have asked for a better event.

From the moment the festival opened, our booth was buzzing with activity. The energy at the fairgrounds was electric—the live music was incredible, the drag performances and entertainment kept everyone smiling, and the gorgeous summer weather provided the perfect backdrop for celebrating our community.

We had an absolute blast meeting so many wonderful people, sharing our love for local wildlife, and reminding everyone that nature and birding are for everyone.

An event like this is only as successful as the people behind it, and we want to give a massive, heartfelt thank you to our incredible Kitsap Audubon volunteers who generously gave their time to host our booth:

Whether it was answering questions about local bird species, sharing tips on the best birding spots in Kitsap County, passing out educational materials, or just sharing a smile and a good story, our team did a phenomenal job welcoming the public and spreading the joy of birding.

One of the absolute highlights of the day had to be a visit from a mystery attendee who arrived in the most incredible, fully decked-out bird costume! While we didn't manage to catch their name through all the excitement, their spectacular outfit was an instant crowd-pleaser and brought so much joy to our booth. It’s not every day a giant feathered friend stops by to talk shop, and it perfectly captured the fun, creative, and welcoming spirit of the festival.
