Birdability Week - Starts Today!

Birdability Week 2025 takes place October 20-26, 2025 with the theme “You Belong Here.” Organized by Birdability, this national event celebrates accessibility and inclusion in birding, affirming that birding is for everybody and every body.

The week offers a lineup of free, virtual programs:

  • This Is Your Brain on Birds: A Conversation About Pain with Dr. Rachel Zoffness (October 20)

  • Accessibility in Conservation Panel (October 21)

  • Birding and Belonging: A Panel About Accessible Birding While Using a Wheelchair (October 22)

  • Stories from the Blind Birder Community (October 23)

  • Accessible Nature Journaling Workshop (October 24)

  • Bird(ability) Your Way! Weekend — a nationwide invitation to bird in the way that works best for you (October 25–26)

Each morning begins with virtual birding on Instagram Live at 10 a.m. ET. The celebration wraps up October 26 with community stories and the announcement of Birdability’s photo and video contest winners.

Alongside these virtual events, Birdability Captains and partners will host accessible birding outings and inclusive activities across the country, creating opportunities to connect with nature and community.
